Who is GoDoEat for?

GoDoEat is for tourists who want to experience Singapore and Malaysia with local guidance. It is for people who want to know where locals go, what locals do, and where locals eat when they are not following the usual travel checklist.

Is this a complete directory of every place?

No. GoDoEat is curated on purpose. We would rather show fewer places with better reasons than overwhelm visitors with every cafe, attraction, mall, or trend on the map.

Why do some places not have photos?

We do not want the site to depend on copied, unreliable, or misleading photos. Some listings may launch without photos because the local reason matters more than a perfect image. GoDoEat is built around practical context: why to go, when to go, what to try, and what to expect.

Will this make local places less special?

That is a real concern, and we take it seriously. GoDoEat should not turn every quiet local place into a crowded checklist stop. Our goal is a newer, more respectful style of tourism: visitors arrive with context, support local businesses, follow local manners, and understand why a place matters.

Why should locals welcome tourists into these places?

Thoughtful tourism can help small businesses, neighborhood food spots, local guides, markets, workshops, and communities. The point is not to flood a place, but to help visitors move with care and spend with intention.

How are places chosen?

A good GoDoEat pick should answer one question: would a local bring a visiting friend here? Admins and contributors look for places with local texture, useful details, clear location info, and a reason beyond “it is popular.”

Can locals suggest places?

Yes. Locals can share places they genuinely recommend. Submissions are reviewed before appearing publicly so the guide stays useful, respectful, and curated.
